Ms McGill ran her own practice since 1999 in Brentwood, England and was a member of the National Health Service Directory of Aromatherapist's. In October 2007, she became a Director of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists and is also Co Chair for the AIA Education Committee.

Experience

Ms McGill ran her own practice since 1999 in Brentwood, England and was a member of the National Health Service Directory of Aromatherapist’s.  As well as working with private clients, she felt blessed with being able to work with many women during their pregnancies, using aromatherapy as a support system during each semester, labor and post natal recovery. In 2003 she relocated to Bonita Springs in Florida where she continued with her work in private practice and in August 2006, she moved to Boulder, Colorado, and joined Whole Health Wellness Center.

She has worked with a wide range of medical conditions, both chronic and acute, including conditions related to the respiratory, digestive, muscular-skeletal, nervous, and reproductive systems as well as skincare. Her main goal is to support her clients own healing mechanisms during times of illness, stress and emotional discomfort by choosing a modality that is best suited to their condition. Her aromatherapy treatments combine the power of smell with the power of touch to promote and maintain both physiological and psychological well being, whilst Reflex Touch is a gentle yet powerful exploratory foot treatment that can restore balance and harmony to the whole body.

She also holds classes teaching parents and caregivers infant massage and discusses its importance in encouraging nurturing touch.

Philosophy

"Good health is not just about the absence of disease – Good Health or Well Being is founded upon the balance – “Homeostasis” - of a healthy body, mind and spirit."

The basis upon which Holistic medicine works is that there is a vital life force within us all – an energy that flows within all living beings and this energy is what sustains life. In China, this energy is known as “Chi”, in India, “Prana”. This vital force has the role of flowing freely to energize every cell in the body which promotes the flow of blood, lymph and nerve energy. When this flow becomes interrupted by a blockage, is excessive or deficient, an imbalance occurs which can then leave the body vulnerable to ill health. Our emotions, whether positive or negative, also play an important role in the flow of this energy. The role of a complementary therapist is to support the patients own healing abilities by rebalancing, nourishing and cleansing this energy and so harmonizing every aspect of the persons well being.

Personal Interests

Nicola is married with three children and moved to Boulder because of her and her family's love of Nature and the outdoors. Her interest in health and all things natural keeps her studying in the world of Aromatherapy and finding new ways to promote its use in a safe and caring way. She enjoys quality time with her family, horses, reading, cooking, traveling and of course, skiing.
